Standpipe is one of the earliest images and is one of only a few “sculpture” shots. It was located on East 4th street right off the Bowery and was one of the first photographic “captures” of ephemeral street art in the Urban Montage series. It has served as an emblematic photo for the exhibition Wall Scrawl. Sadly, the real standpipe no longer has any eyes.
