The Highline, located on the far west side of Manhattan running from 12th Street in the Meatpacking District, through the Chelsea arts district and up to the Hudson Yards on 34th Street, was until recently a derelict railroad trestle that was slated to be demolished. Happily saved and transformed into a beautiful park and major destination, the original structure was filled with beautiful graffiti. This photo was taken of one of the beams near 16th street and 10th Avenue before the gentrification took place.
